V=P-O

     Welcome to the world of the Breathairean Ensemble! V=P-O is the Ensemble’s first recorded album. As always, to prepare for this recording many of the musicians fasted, and this fasting-energy can be felt throughout the album.

Children of the Sun Live Concert (uncut)

     Below are the audio tracks from the Children of the Sun Concert uncut. In preparation for this concert Brother Air and Professor Spira had been fasting without solid food for many months and it is expressed through the music. This concert was dedicated to some of the ensemble’s most influential avant-garde musicians/music groups, including Sun Ra, Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, and the Art Ensemble of Chicago.

A Cry for the Ignorant (uncut)

     This is a piece composed by Professor Spira. It is inspired by the Indian folk melody Sita Ram, which Spira first heard in the motion picture Ghandi. This is the full, uncut version of this remarkable recording.

Brother Air

     This solo percussion album was recorded in one take by Matt Anderson on July 19, 2004. Brother Air was nearing the end of his first 8 ½ month juice fast and this recording was created to document and celebrate this magnificent achievement. Brother Air is a true improviser and the hand-drum rig that you hear on this record was assembled the day of the recording. You are listening to one man, Brother Air. There are no overdubs of any kind.
