            The Breathairean Ensemble is one of the most progressive, creative, and entertaining musical organizations on the scene today. This is not just an ordinary band that shows up to play a few standards, but a collection of superb musicians who put on an electrifying stage show combining an eclectic repertoire with a fascinating theatrical display. The ensemble draws its musical inspiration from the entire history of jazz as well as the many musics of the world. From the New Orleans style of Louis Armstrong, the spirit of Ornette Coleman and John Coltrane, the theatrical avant-garde displays of the Art Ensemble of Chicago and Sun Ra, the fusion of Weather Report and Return to Forever, the Gamelan music of Bali, the meditative qualities of North Indian Hindustani music, to the percussion ensembles of Africa and South America. The musicians place no stylistic boundaries on the creativity of their music.   

 

            The musicians of the Breathairean Ensemble lead very health-conscious lifestyles, and one of the bands missions is to promote and inspire health through its music. Because of this mission, plus the bands orientation toward the family and community, the Breathairean Ensemble does not play in bars or restaurants. The ensemble is perfect for festivals, concerts, outdoor events, private parties, conventions, holistic health/vegetarian events, and artistic venues.

 

            The ensemble also specializes in music education and is available for clinics, workshops, concerts, and residencies at high schools and colleges. In addition to discussing the rudiments of music the main topic that will be addressed is how the students can preserve the real instrument, which is their body. Through lectures and discussions the musicians will explore how music and health are synonymous and why it is so important for musicians and artist to pursue a healthy lifestyle.
